Manon Poem

His dark shoulder is in sable clad

His dark shoulder is in sable clad
his fingertips are sable silk

He calls into the morning glad
allseeing are all of his ilk

Sit on my shoulder sooty one

let me see with my eyes through your eyes
One call when the raven comes

one call when the raven flies

and I will wear my yellow hose
and on my head a good gray hat
and in it I'll stick a lovely rose"

Iwan with his magical Dogcoat

This is Iwan Iwanstarewitsj from the russian tale Maria Morevna.
In our adapted version he has a magical coat with a hood in the shape of a dog's head, called Graynose. Graynose speaks to him and gives him advice whenever Iwan puts up his hood.
(This picture shows Iwan as a child, by the way.)

She manifested her abilities for casting illusions
after reading an inherited store of fairytale books
for four days straight. Unfortunately, she can't herself
tell the difference between her own creations and
reality. But consequently, she's seldom lonely.
