Stormy night poem
Dearest,
though dreary rains drown you
and morning mists gown you.
Once golden leaves crowned you
you shine fine as when I first found you
Darkest,
sonore and deep browned one
it is the mid of my night.
Troubles run before me
and promises behind.

Dear,
your winds howl gray and jet
your stormy footfall beside my bed.
A lonely ecco rolls 'long the kim
you are without as I am within.

White Fox hat

This is one of the first hats I made. (Although technically it's more like a hood.) I made it for the bookcover of "Love of the Seven Dolls" by Paul Gallico, to be worn together with a fox mask. My favorite character in the book being Rey, the fox.
Unfortunately the hat shrank dramatically in the washing and is now a doll's hat, which is actually kind of fitting.

Lost Autumn Queen

On my lands I have let famine fall,
I have let winter reign.
I have let ivy lie,
likewise web and rust remain.
Now I have returned,
footloose, new bridges burned.
I am come home, to her,
that once I had unlearned.
The lost Autumn queen came home again,
she flew with geese by starlight.
Acorn and chestnut called her name,
as did rain and flame and twilight.

This year's breaddough EggMen:

We bake them each easter for brunch. And eat them with strawberries and the chocolate eggs we find in the garden.
(The top-left one and bottom right one were made by my brother Niels.)

Protection Charm Kerchief

This handkerchief was made for Kees Rutten, who is prone to making dangerous sea voyages.
The runes in the corners phonetically spell his name and the rune symbol under his ship is one for safe journeys.
Varen, varen over de baren,
als scheepje op woelige zee.
Stormwind fluister, water ruist er
onder Avontuur's zeilen mee.

"And rainy is my hair"...

Dreary's daughter
My veins are clear as water
my eyes are clear as air
I am Dreary's daughter
and rainy is my hair

Silver patter, water falling
is the clatter of my steps
I am silver falling
to whisper from the depths
My cheeks are cold and windy
the windswept sky's my rime
If I'm your song, then sing me
my heart is keeping time
If you hear me, then come near me
I long to be unlone
an ember glows within me
and frost within my bone
