Birdtailed Coat

Growing up I used to dream of having such a coat.
I used to imagine stories about my own fantasy world.
There was a girl there who became a ghost and could walk through time.
She would sit silently in the morning twilight, with the ravens and the jack daws.

She had a coat like that.

She could wear whatever she imagined, and could tell fortunes by reading spiderwebs.
Only she couldn't remember her own name, for she had lost most of the memories of her life.

Sketch for the Year of the Rabbit

Patrick said this sketch is very much about me:
How I want to feel rooted and held like the Rabbit girl is by the tree.
How I love tea and comfort, nature and playful objects, like the Rabbit hat.
And how I keep a little light of hope burning on the side.

When someone sees you so well,
it's like being given the gift of yourself, by someone you love.

By hob

By hob and not,
with bounding trot
by stricken stride
I bound the night.

The moon and gloom
my silent guide,
by breath and bale
and winding trail.

To light a light
would dark the night
and make alone
my shadow own

Therefore the twink
of dawning pink
will be my glow,
by hob I go.

Midnight

Midnight

I loved you, secretly
like hidden moon loves sun

Beguiled I watched you, waning

waxing when you'd come

Poppies flower under moonlight
nod and whisper in twilight breeze

I lie below them looking up
at blackest sky and starlit trees

Into the void of ocean night

I cast m
y calling soul
Far as stars we are apart

flying as we fall

Night crickets hold their breath

mute to poppies' silen
t song
I lie where I once loved you

hollow as the night is long

Stormy night poem

Dearest,
though dreary rains drown you
and morning mists gown you.
Once golden leaves crowned you
you shine fine as when I first found you

Darkest,
sonore and deep browned one
it is the mid of my night.
Troubles run before me
and promises behind.

Dear,
your winds howl gray and jet
your stormy footfall beside my bed.
A lonely ecco rolls 'long the kim
you are without as I am within.
